CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR ENROLLMENT INTO THE FIRST YEAR OF GRADUATE UNIVERSITY STUDY OF DISCRETE MATHEMATICS AND ITS APPLICATIONS (IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE) LEADING TO THE ACADEMIC TITLE OF MASTER OF SCIENCE IN MATHEMATICS in the academic year 2024/2025
 

Discrete Mathematics and its Applications is a 2-year university programme in English leading to the academic degree of Master of Science in Mathematics.
The maximum number of students admitted in the academic year 2024/2025 is 10.
The academic year starts in October 2024 and admission is only possible for the winter semester.
Tuition fees of 4000 EURO are charged for each academic year.

Admission requirement: 
Undergraduate degree (BA /BSc) in the field of mathematics (at least 180 ECTS credits or equivalent)

Application procedure:

STEP 1: 
Submission of the foreign Bachelor's degree to the Academic Recognition Qualifications Office.

STEP 2:
Applicants must complete the "Application Form - Graduate university study programme Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications" (available here) and attach the following documents:

• A proof of citizenship (copy of passport or ID)
• A scanned copy of your diploma (Bachelor's degree or equivalent)
• A translation of this certificate into English or Croatian, if necessary
• A scanned copy of your official grade list or diploma supplement of your undergraduate degree
• A translation of the grade list into English or Croatian, if necessary
• Recognition of the foreign Bachelor's degree certificate (from the University Recognition Office)

Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.
 
Summer application cycle
Applications must be submitted by midnight by midnight on 9th May 2024.
All applicants will be informed of the results of their applications no later than 21st May 2024. 

 
Autumn application cycle
If there are still places available after the summer application cycle, the autumn application cycle will be activated.
Applications must be submitted in person or by email by midnight on 29th August 2024.
All applicants will be informed of the results of their applications no later than 4th September 2024. 

 
STEP 3: 
The results of each cycle will also be published on the official website of the Faculty https://arhiva.math.uniri.hr/en/dma.html. 
The deadline for appeals is 72 hours after the announcement of the results.

Enrolment information: 
Enrolment for successful applicants will take place on 26th September 2024, from 11:00 to 14:00, at the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Mathematics, Radmile Matejčić 2, 51000 Rijeka. It is important that you enrol at the specified times. Enrolment is only valid for one academic year at a time.
Please note that a standard enrolment fee is charged for each academic year, in accordance with the decision of the University Senate.
Tuition fees can either be paid in full upon enrolment or in two instalments of 2000 EUR: the first at enrolment, the second by 31 December 2024.
 
Students from countries outside the European Union should contact their local Croatian Embassy as soon as possible to find out whether they need a visa to enter and study in the Republic of Croatia.
